Ancient Micro-continent found

Recently, news of an ancient micro-continent, Mauritia, was found in the Indian Ocean after being preserved by huge amounts of ancient lava. Most researchers conclude that Mauritia was part of  an underwater volcano chain. The sand from the beaches of the micro-continent was 20 ancient zircon grains that could be between 660 million to 1,970 million years old. Zircons are insanely heavy minerals that could be the reason of why the zircons didn't fly from Africa. Many scientists believed that Mauritia was separate from Madagascar and got buried under lava.

China Vs Japan: Possibility of a Third Sino-Japanese War

Recently, China and Japan have been fighting over the islands of Senkaku. Even though both sides didn't start it yet, many people believes that a Third Sino-Japanese War is coming up. Even if there is war, China is afraid that the Americans are going to help the Japanese due to the treaty that was signed after WW2. Although the islands were claimed by the Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese, the island was actually claimed by Japan first in 1895 before the Chinese began its claim on it in 1971. Many Chinese diplomats are afraid that by causing a war on Japan, it'll cause a serious rift with America. Though  Many of its officials believe that America has been weakened by the global financial crisis and debilitating wars. Hitoshi Tanaka of the Institute of International Strategy in Tokyo is currently working on solutions to prevent the disputes from going too far.

Good Journalism

I learned that many things, like the Internet, that helped improved journalism in the past. I still wonder what would happen if journalism was still the same as a hundred years ago.  I still want to know if there is anything in the future to enhance the news/journalism.

Global Warming: World Threat or Just a Small Issues

This topic has been asked for centuries, but only the people of the 21st century are currently trying to stop it. Global Warming is basically an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect. Many of the extreme weathers like Hurricane Sandy was created by global warming. This was made possible due to fossil fuel burning in cars, factories, and electricity productions. Most scientists said that unless the human race take actions, then the entire Earth will be like an oven and every humans left on Earth will be dead due to the rapidly increase of heat. After hearing this, many students from all over the world are currently "going green" in order to help the planet. Recently, many schools across America have students working on solutions to prevent Global Warming. Some schools like Camden Hills Regional High School, had just bought a 121-foot windmill to generate electricity using the power of some of the Earth's natural resource, wind. Most students don't have to go that far, but remember, even the smallest changes can be a huge impact on society. Take the students at Jackson School for an example, they made a school garden that started out small, but later became a huge garden enough to feed about a small town.It is not too late to start, so grab some friends and make an impact on global warming!
"I think global warming is harmful to both humans and animals, due to cars burning fossil fuel, but sadly I can't do anything"-Nathan W.

History of Anime

Anime is a Japanese animated productions that are separated into many kinds of categories such as horror, action/adventure, etc.
Anime was first started around the 20th century when Japanese filmmakers began experimenting with anime techniques from the West. One of the oldest known anime was in 1917, where a two minute clip of a samurai is trying out his new sword on his target, but is defeated. In 1940, many anime artists' organization had risen. During that time period, anime was mostly used as a channel for government propaganda. In 1945, the first feature length anime film, Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors, was released.

During the second World War, the Japanese government began enforcing nationalism, which forced many animators to make animations that boosts the Japanese spirit and national affiliation. In 1948, Toei Animation was founded and produced the first color anime feature film in 1958, Hakujaden (The Tale of the White Serpent, 1958).

During the 70's, anime film market shrunk due to the increase of television competition. During the 80's,90's, and 2000's anime production flourished with many new animes along with many movies while some anime companies are currently working with Disney.
